MTAC Goes to 11!
April 22 - 24, 2011 Sheraton Music City - Nashville, TN

SOAKED, BUT NOT BEATEN!

So, we concluded our tenth event after a VERY soggy, flood-filled, historic weekend of rain by extending the MTAC Main Room into Sunday night to help entertain people who were stuck in town due to road closures and other flooding fallout. We want to thank Spike and Colleen for doing a an ad-hoc panel, and we hope everyone enjoyed the nearly-all-night karaoke. It was our little gesture to help lessen the impact of our city's floods. So our con got to be a 4-day con, even if only by accident. That's the good news.

The bad news is that people need lots of help here in Nashville! Flooding has taken lives, homes, and much more, and we want to ask all our friends to consider helping out. We want to be sure to spread the word that The Community Foundation of Middle TN has a great set of donation and support links. If you can get involved, please do so. Our city can use the help. We are not making the national news because we are doing well to keep our sense of peace and community, but that does not mean we don't need a hand. Anything you decide to do will help, and the links at CFMT are a great jumping-off point. Thanks, and we will be back soon with more info on MTAC's plans for next year!

THANKS FOR ANOTHER GREAT (& wet) YEAR!

Wow! What an awesome tenth MTAC! It was a very busy and sometimes chaotic weekend among the floods, but we still had a wonderful time. We do want to extend our best wishes to those who have been affected by the flooding, and we hope everyone has a safe trip home. We are glad we could keep the main room open Sunday night to entertain those stuck in town. We will have a lot more to post later, once we're all a bit more recovered. For now, a big thanks once again, and a big CONGRATS to our new Conkitty™ - Alyss!

Lucas Leverett, Convention Chairman

Kaiju Big Battel Once Again Invades MTAC!

Our 2008 returning favorite guest has been confirmed - Kaiju Big Battel! MTAC will once again be subject to the giant monster invasion that is Kaiju Big Battel.

Unfortunately we do have some bad news. Tommy Yune is unable to attend MTAC this year. Instead, Tommy will be attending the funeral of Carl Macek, an American Anime legend and one of the creators of Robotech. Tommy passes his regrets along to the MTAC community.

Harmony Gold's Steve Yun will still be attending the convention to meet and greet with fans and to join them in remembering a pioneering figure in the Anime industry. MTAC's entire staff joins with our friends at Harmony Gold in offering our condolences to Mr. Macek's family. We will always be grateful for his contributions to an art we all love.

We Have a Schedule!

Everyone has been anxiously awaiting, but we finally have our MTAC Odyssey programming schedule out in a nifty PDF file! The schedule contains event times, certain feature hours, event ratings, little info tidbits and a nifty map. Subject to last-minute changes, of course.

We have also added a bunch of wallpapers and avatars to the MTAC Downloadables page, many of which featuring our own Conkitty. Check it out and download what you'd like.

Quaff tops off MTAC Odyssey's music lineup

The Japanese rock band Quaff is stopping at MTAC Odyssey on their 2010 US tour. Quaff will perform their self-styled "Samurai Rock" this April in Nashville at Music City's Anime Con.

Quaff is joining Team Illuminati in serving as MTAC Odyssey's top bands. Team Illuminati won the MTAC Battle of the Bands at last year's MTAC Ninja, earning the chance to headline at MTAC Odyssey.

Lisa Furukawa is already set to perform her unique fusion of Japanese folk, alternative pop and electronic music in her fifth MTAC appearance.

Welcome one and all to the new website for MTAC Odyssey! Here you'll find just about everything there is that has to do with MTAC. Read about MTAC and its rules and contact info on the About page.
