exciting art panels over the weekend brought to you by some of the coolest artists in the anime community to learn all this and more!
Cosplay and Fashion Track
A track for those who love costuming and Japanese Street Fashion, Cosplay & Fashion Track is back and better than ever! With a host of events ranging from informative panels to hands-on competitions, we have more events than ever to keep you busy during MTAC. Be sure to check out the new Cosplay Contest rules and requirements. Our classic J-Fashion battle, Iron Lolita, is back with a twist, and at your request, we've got even more cosplay-related workshops this time around!
Japanese Culture Track
MTAC wouldn't be complete without a track dedicated to the more traditional side of the culture that brings us anime. Whether you're a beginner in Japanese language, or if you're an expert who was raised by Buddhist monks, we've got events for everyone. With topics ranging from Japanese language to Zen Buddhism to Kimono and Geisha, there's a world of knowledge outside of anime we'd like to share with you.
Kaiju Track
Godzilla, Mothra, & Dr. Cube- MTAC's theme this year are the big, bad, and ugly monsters of the Kaiju genre, so of course we have to
dedicate a track to them! Informative panels and discussion panels, screenings of Kaiju favorites, and even a few new Kaijuu-themed events
are on the table this year, so don't miss out on these once-in-a-lifetime events!
Late Night Track
Check out all the new Late Night fun we've got going on for MTAC Infinity! Find out why MTAC is called "The Con That Never Sleeps"! We keep partying until the sun comes up! Both Friday and Saturday night holds events for folks of all ages, and even a few for the 18+ crowd. (Valid state-issued ID required for 18+ events.) Two nights of dancing, the return of Yaoi! Yowza, and a whole myriad of new Events to keep you drinking Red Bull all night! Take our Otaku Sleepover Challenge and see if you can make it all night!
Martial Arts Track
Everybody was kung-fu fighting. Those cats were fast as lightning. In fact it was a little bit frightning. But they fought with expert timing. MTAC is
excited to once again deliver a strong roundhouse of great martial arts content this year! Come for the technique and stay for the art!
Music Track
MTAC is Music City USA's anime con, so we have to feature a rocking Music Track for our con goers. With a little bit of everything, fandom favorites, and new voices in the scene, MTAC is proud to feature bands and artists that we believe you will love as much as we do! Also, be sure to catch artists Q& A panels, J-music panels and video screenings, and share the love with other fans!
Otaku Track
This is the track for the die-hard anime fan. From fan panels to MTAC signature events like the Ramen Eating Contest and MTAC Idol, the Otaku track has something for the fan in all of us. The most popular series have fan-run discussion panels where you can meet other fans, our staff and guests will host in-depth industry and current events panels, and we even have some workshops where you can write/draw/sing about your fandom!
ParaPara Track
ParaPara is a popular style of club dancing featured in hip Tokyo nightspots, and followed religiously by the fashionable youngesters of Shibuya. In response to it's rising popularity stateside, MTAC is again proud to host the ParaPara track for paralists from all across the U.S.! Featuring the return of the ParaPara Battle for a third consecutive year, a paralist showcase, and of course, a para dance party and paralist meetup! Also, we'll have several para workshops over the weekend for those who want to learn some new moves, or are getting interested in para for the first time!
