Otaku Anime Prom

• This event is very high-demand, so please keep in mind that leaving the event for any reason forfeits your attendance and you will have to return to the line for re-entry.
• Please keep all belongings with you while in the ballroom and before exiting. There will NOT be a coat or purse check service for the event.
• To keep the line running smoothly and to remain fair to all attendees, guests will enter the event in no more than groups of four (4) at a time, with the exception of a parent/guardian chaperoning minors.
• If there are more than four (4) people in your group, there is no guarantee that all of the group will gain entry simultaneously.
• If you do not wish to break apart a group of more than four (4), then you may be asked to go to the back of the line to allow other persons or groups to enter.
• There is no special entry except by approved event staff.  If you are in search of a friend or family member who may be attending the party, please ask the door staff so that we can make an effort to have your party meet you at the entry.

The Otaku Anime Prom exists to provide attendees with an experience similar to the dances you loved, hated, or didn’t go to in the past. These rules were developed to provide guidelines for our attendees. Clothing for disability needs are exemptions to the rules. General Clothing Guidelines:

• All outfits, including dresses, skirts, tops, pants, and shoes, must be formal, semi-formal or relaxed formal in nature.
• At least half of your body must be covered in fabric – avoid bare midriffs and bare chests as those are unacceptable. Formal/semi-formal attire from East Asian countries is acceptable.
• Garments with rips/tears must be intact in nature with no risk of ripping more while dancing. Hemlines and seams should be neat.
• Semi-formal attire includes prom dresses, evening gowns, cocktail dresses, and dressy separates.

Specific Outfits:

• Elegant Gothic Lolita, Ouji, and other Asian formal wear are welcome.
• Fursuits are welcome as long as you have clothing and accessories that meet the Otaku Anime Prom dress code over the fursuit.
• Cosplays must have an air of formality to them, but unlike the Ball, may have a more relaxed vibe. If a fictional or nonfictional character wears an outfit that almost follows the guidelines (e.g. a character wears a tuxedo with sneakers) they are acceptable.

Not Allowed at the Otaku Anime Prom:

• No skimpy, rave or revealing outfit – no bare midriffs or bottoms.
• Dirty or worn sneakers, outdoor sandals and flip flops are not allowed.
• Undergarments (underwear, bras, garters, garter belt straps) may not be used as outerwear. Built-in undergarments that blend into the outfit are acceptable
• Blue jeans or cargo pants are not allowed.
• Excessive Battle Armor and Fantasy Armor are not allowed for safety reasons.
• No military dress uniforms, fatigues, or BDUs.
• Wings, tails, horns, or props that will get in the way are not allowed.
• Body paint and face paint that are not sealed are not allowed.
• No swag-bags, shopping bags, large backpacks or large satchels/purses.

• All MTAC rules of behavior must be followed.
• Shoes must be worn the entire time.
• Personal items should be left in your room or car. Staff is not responsible for ensuring the safety of your items while you are at the Prom.
